Presslines Privacy Policy

Information Shared with Third Parties.

No Information submitted to Presslines via our website, email or any other means is shared with or sold to other companies.

The name and email information submitted when signing up for our free Presslines service is used solely to personalise emails set in connection with the service, to allow users to be easily able to differentiate email sent by our Presslines servers from Spam email.

We may use the email addresses provided by users to alert you of changes to our service such as new facilities, for example.  We will NOT send unsolicited spam emails.  Should you wish to be removed from our mailing list completely, please contact us by email.

Information left in messages recorded on Presslines servers.

Messages recorded on Presslines Services should be checked for suitability for general release prior to recording.  Services with dedicated numbers can be access by anyone given the telephone number or indeed anyone dialling by accident, however unlikely that is.  Services using an access code should not be considered "Secure" and can be accessed by anyone with the appropriate service access code.  Due consideration should be given to personal, unproven or company confidential information.  No liability can or will be accepted for the content of messages recorded.

Access to Servers and Data Stored on those Servers.

Our voicemail servers are not physically accessible by anyone apart from our own staff.  Access to data and recorded messages is restricted as far as practical, while allowing us to maintain the service.

Email and Data sent via the Internet.

Messages may be sent by email to registered email address of the service.  The messages and/or voice recordings are not encrypted or passworded and the responsibility for the security of messages received by email is that of the recipient.  Any email message sent via the Internet should not be considered "secure" as in how a bank is secure, however it is equally true that it is unlikely that any single email would be intercepted unless this was requested for legal or security reasons.  There is a far greater risk of email security being compromised by weak passwords or a lack of security once the email is received, than the risk of an email being intercepted when being sent across the Internet.

If you are concerned about message security.

If as a Presslines operator and having read the above you are concerned about the security of the messages or the information that may be left via our service, then PLEASE DO NOT USE OUR SERVICE OR LEAVE THAT INFORMATION.  We provide free and chargable services that are suitable for many peoples needs and take all reasonable steps to protect the security of messages left via our servers but we cannot be held responsible for the security of those messages outside of, or beyond our reasonable control.  If you require a secure messaging service for highly secret and/or confidential information you should consider other means such as PGP encrypted email.
